STAFF PSYCHIATRIST, ADDICTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A medical degree from an accredited institution and least one year of treatment experience in applicable area of practice.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Licensure by the Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners; eligibility for or current certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The ability to speak Spanish is desirable but not required. Background and licensure searches will be performed. Valid Colorado driver license
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the administrative supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for:

Prescribing medications for clients;

Evaluating, or supervising the evaluation of, clients taking prescribed medications;

Providing, or supervising the provision of, clinical services by clinicians and nurse prescinber(s);

Providing psychiatric evaluations of clients;
-
Evaluating clients for whom inpatient or residential care services are being provided;
-
Evaluating clients to determine if mental health services are medically necessary;
-
Providing all assigned inpatient services on an on-call basis rotating with other Center practitioners;
- Attending scheduled medical staff clinical and administrative meetings;

Assisting in coordination of community based services for attended clients;

Keeping accurate, complete, and up-to-date records; and
-
Performing other work-related duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
