Domestic Violence Offender Treatment & Victim Advocacy Services

Spanish Peaks Behavioral Health Centers offers comprehensive and affordable domestic violence offender education and treatment services with a DVOMB approved treatment provider. Treatment is available in Spanish or English.

 

Domestic Violence Education & Therapy Services

Content areas for domestic violence treatment with SPBHC include, but are not limited to, education about domestic violence such as the cycle of violence and how violence affects victims, children and the community, skill development in anger control, impulse control, stress management, communication, social skills, and emotional control. Education and therapy also includes exploration of family of origin and learned behavior and core beliefs as a result of upbringing and experience, intimate relationship patterns, definitions of violence, and Colorado's mandatory arrest policy for domestic violence.

Levels of offender treatment as devised by the State of Colorado's Domestic Violence Offender Management Board (DVOMB):

Level A - a minimum of two treatment plan reviews and additional reviews as deemed necessary by the MTT (multi-disciplinary treatment team consisting of treatment provider, probation/parole officer, and the victim advocate.)

Level B - a minimum of three treatment plan reviews and additional reviews as deemed necessary by the MTT, PLUS one additional clinical contact per month.

Level C - a minimum of three treatment plan reviews and additional reviews as deemed necessary by the MTT, PLUS one additional clinical contact per week.

 


Spanish Peaks Behavioral Health Centers accepts all types of payment including Medicaid, private insurance, credit card, and cash.

**Sliding fee scale available for self-pay DV Offenders. We will require at least one form of supportive documentation proving hardship. This documentation can be provided by Department of Social Services, TANF, unemployment or Social Security.

 
Carlos Cabrera, M.A., CAC III, DVOMB Certified Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Provider

Mr. Cabrera has over 20 years of experience providing domestic violence offender evaluation and treatment and addictions treatment in Colorado. He is certified by the state to provide treatment for male and female domestic violence offenders, and able to provide treatment services in Spanish or English.

Tara Morrow, B.A., Domestic Violence Victim Advocate

Ms. Morrow provides victim advocacy services for the victims of offenders who are in treatment with SPBHC. Advocacy services include safety planning, notification of offender treatment progress, court support, psycho-education, and referral and linkage to community resources.
